The First Wedding

Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.

18 And the LORD God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.”
19 Out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name.
20 So Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him.
21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place.
22 Then the rib which the LORD God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.
23 And Adam said: “This is now bone of my bones And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man.”
24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.
25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

Genesis 2:18-25 (NKJV)

During this pandemic, there are husbands and wives that have separated themselves from their families because they are doctors and nurses and do not wish to infect their families by accident because they carried the virus home in their clothing. These people are doing this by choice and because of their love for their families.

In the beginning of the world, man was alone, and it was God’s love that came forward. In Genesis 1:15, God stated that man was alone and needed a helper. It was because God loved His creation, “man,” and did not want him to be alone. God didn’t just create a woman in the same manner He created man, He put the man to sleep and use a rib from the man to create his mate. God wanted the man and woman to always be a part of each other. The man and woman had been joined together in such a way; they could never be parted.

Even today, it is still God’s will for each man to take one wife is the same manner as the first man and woman were joined.

It wasn’t the physical joining that made the love of Adam and Eve so special. Notice that it was God who was concerned; it was God’s Love for man that caused Him to be concerned. It was God that loved first, and he demonstrated to man just how to love.

There are a few marriages today that have lasted many years. If you look at these marriages, you will see that at least one of the two people was a Christian when they were married, and the other spouse became a Christian later.

Mankind on its own has no hope of putting together a marriage that will last a lifetime. It takes God and His love to accomplish that.

The same is true for salvation. Even after we receive the Holy Spirit and we have God living in us, there is still a struggle to not sin. Paul talked about his struggle with temptation in the 7th chapter of Romans. Just as Paul was able to conquer his struggle with sin, you can too if you use your love for God just as Paul did.

Faith can move mountains, but it takes the Love of God to conquer the temptation of sin. Faith just keeps us in good favor with God.

If we want to make it through this pandemic, we must remember the love God expressed toward man in the beginning of the world. This is the same love that God has for His people today. God loves the world (John 3:16) But it is the love God gives His people that will break the pandemic and help us to live the way God wants us to live.

I’m sure that after we start going back to church, there will be heretics that will blame God for this bad time just to play on the sympathy of the weaker members of the church to attempt to get more money from them. Remember the Love God had for Adam and ask yourself if God would try to destroy any man or women for his own gain. No!!

It was not God that caused this to happen, because God has never sinned. If He tried to destroy man (even evil men) the act would cause God to break his own commandments and that would be sin. God cannot sin.

Remember, God does not have a magic wand that He uses to do His work. God has disciples like you and me for that. God only directs people and leads His disciples in the way He wants them to go. It is up to the disciple to listen for God to speak and then we must act on what God tells us to do.

It has already been stated that when this is over, there will be a new normal. This new normal is for each person to adapt to. When you are looking for your new normal, study God’s word and allow Him to show you what that new normal should be.

Introduction

2 Timothy 3:16-17

In the following weeks we are going to follow the Christian life of a man from the age of 16, until he goes to meet his Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus. We will learn how this man’s life is governed by the Bible and not by what he heard someone say.

During this journey we will learn some of the key terms dealing with Christians and how we are supposed to live. The big difference is, we are going to go strictly by what God’s word says and not the word of man. Yes, we will use reference books and we will use sermon notes, but not as the final authority. The final authority is the Word of God, Jesus the Christ

In the following paragraphs are some definitions that are crucial to understanding the bible and how God expects us to use the Word contained in the Bible in our daily dealings with the world. You should memorize these words and their meanings. Allow these words to govern how you study and perceive the bible.

I promise that I will try to make this the only truly technical page in the blog

16  All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,
17  that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NKJV)

The definition of the word “scripture” is “the sacred writings of Christianity contained in the Bible.” One thing we must remember is that all scripture in the Old Testament will lead to a commentary in the New Testament.

The definition of the word “commentary” is “an expression of opinions or offering of an explanation about an event or situation.

The definition of the word “reproof” is “an expression of blame or disapproval.

The definition of the word “correction” is “the action or process of correcting something.”

The definition of the word “instruction” is “detailed information telling how something should be done, operated, or assembled.

The definition of the word “Righteousness” is “the quality of being morally right or justifiable.

The definition of the word “complete” is “to make whole or perfect.

The biblical definition of the word “good” is “possessing or displaying moral virtue.

Remember, we must live “in” the word and make a living for our family. Therefore, we must obey the laws of the world (United States/ Our State) unless they are in direct conflict with God’s law. We do not have to live “of” the world, nor should we “follow” their way of life.

This does not indicate in any way that we must not drive cars, watch tv, or do other things that some un-knowing people say are sinful. We will approach these things as we watch this man walk through this world and keep his Christian values.

I hope you enjoy this blog as much as I enjoy writing it. I also hope you learn as much as I will as I study and gather details to write the blog. Amen!
